Old Nick Theatre Ghost Hunts Gainsborough
Fancy the challenge of spending time alone in one of the old nicks prison cells? (warning these are dark creepy cells that once housed unsavoury characters!) Or would you rather stick together in numbers and investigate the theatre room, back stage areas (formerly the old court and Judges rooms) and former Victorian residence? This gem of a location has it all and as you walk around the place, you will start to feel very unsettled!…
History of the Old Nick Theatre
This Victorian building started out over a hundred years ago as serving it’s time as the Headquarters of the Lincolnshire Constabulary with its own Magistrates court. In 1979 the courtroom was transformed into a theatre which remains today, the old Judges rooms are now back stage rooms and the costumes are stored upstairs in what would have been the children’s bedrooms. Today the theatre is soon to continue it’s restoration but for now has been pretty much untouched. The police cells are a true reflection of Victorian times.
Paranormal Activity at the Old Nick Theatre
Previous investigations and employee accounts stack up to an impressive list of paranormal occurrences at The Old Nick Theatre. Staff often feel uneasy when walking alone through the building, the old police cells and corridors certainly have a dark depressive feel. Temperatures have dropped on command here along with visitors feeling sick and unwell, an eerie presence also lurks in the exercise yard. In the theatre area and former bedrooms above, voices have been heard and captured which appear to be unhappy with people being there. It’s believed over 20 deaths occurred here, does this have anything to do with this place being so haunted?!
