The Grand Pavilion Ghost Hunt Matlock Baths
Fancy the idea of spending the night at this Matlock Baths landmark investigating the numerous claims of it’s hauntings?! It’s no surprise this old theatre is supposedly rife with paranormal activities due to it’s varied and energetic past. Many people have felt the sensation of being strangled down in the cellar where some staff refuse to enter alone. The sound of ghostly children have been heard in various parts of the building, some have been lucky enough to see the shadowy figure of a lady peering from one of the upper windows. With so many unexplained goings on, what will happen at The Grand Pavilion on your Haunted Evening?!…
Ghost Hunts with Haunted Evenings combine traditional ghost hunting vigils with more innovative experiments. You could soon be finding yourself taking part in a lock down experiment or trying your hand at using a thermal imaging camera during one of the kit vigils. For the more daring, take up the challenge of a lone vigil to really creep yourself out! A night in this historic location will soon find yourself in very small groups or on your own on the closest ghost hunting experience out there!….brave enough?!
History of The Grand Pavilion
This somewhat “seen better days” Edwardian building was built in 1910 to serve the ever increasing demands of tourism to this Derbyshire Dales popular Spa town. The Grand Pavilion was built to host a diverse range of entertainment, from theatre productions, community events, dances and military bands. During both World Wars, The Grand Pavilion served it’s time supporting the war efforts before continuing along it’s path as being a centre for entertainment. With the fall in theatre goers, the Grand Pavillion was, for awhile, a nightclub known locally as “The Pav” before being taken over in 2012 by a Charity trust whose aim is to restore the building to it’s former glory.
