Park Hotel Ghost Hunt

In the mid 1800’s, thanks to the construction of a railway system which linked Yorkshire towns to the area, surrounding villages grew in population, eventually merging together to form Morecambe by 1889. As the Victorians fashioned seaside resorts, Morecambe became a thriving holiday destination, particularly for Mill workers from Bradford and surrounding West Yorkshire. By 1897, the Morecambe Winter Gardens opened up on along the seafront promenade.  Deeds suggest the Park Hotel was built between 1843 and 1860, making this one of the oldest buildings in Morecambe. The Park Hotel was clearly built with grandeur in mind, with stunning spacious reception rooms, a ballroom and an extravagant Observatory at it’s highest point. Whilst the hotel has clearly seen better days and has now closed it’s doors due to decades of declining tourism, this magnificent building still dominates the town, towering above all other buildings in the area.

As you approach the building, you’d be hard pressed not to stare and take note of the sheer size of the place that stands before you! A real sense of anticipation comes over you at the thought of spending the night here in what is now, in all tense and purposes, a warren of random abandoned rooms of varying degrees of state of repair. Step inside and what once would have been a hive of activity is replaced with a real feeling of eerie emptiness. Most of the locals have a story to tell about just how haunted the Park Hotel is. It’s become known in the area for its mysterious green light that has been seen on many occasions from the Observatory and many locals simply fill up with fear at the thought of wandering the upper floors at night on their own.

Park Hotel Ghost Hunt Morecambe

Join Haunted Evenings as we explore and investigate this now eerily empty and abandoned Victorian hotel in the old seaside town of Morecambe. This former glory, the Park Hotel, has been closed for years with many of the original furnishings, including bedding, just simply left behind! From old reception rooms and bars, to stairs that lead to nowhere,  countless bedrooms in various states of repair, back to bare walls on the upper servants landing, an old library, cellars with servants kitchen and a stunning Observatory that shows the marks of where it was struck by lightening! All this AND the fact that many locals strongly believe this hotel, built in 1900, is one of the most haunted places in this seaside ghost town, this is a perfect place to spend a haunted evening!
