Ghost Hunt Guys Cliffe House

History of Guys Cliffe House

Once a Country Mansion surrounded by wealth and opulence, this Georgian style house has fallen on hard times and now sits partially ruined.  Guys Cliffe has been used as a Red Cross Hospital during World War I and during World War II was used as a Boys Home. Guys Cliffe was broken up and sold in 1947. The new owners at that time planned to convert the Mansion into a hotel but instead the mansion fell into disrepair. in 1966 the roof had fallen in. It’s fate was further sealed when a fire broke out in 1992 during the filming of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes.

Ghost Hunt Guys Cliffe House: Join Haunted Evenings as we investigate the many areas this location has to offer. With layer upon layer of history, Guys Cliffe House is the perfect location for paranormal investigations. Guests will be split off into small numbers, you could well find yourself in vulnerable numbers down in the wine cellar (tunnel) where we have picked up on disembodied voices, K2 spikes and EVP’s certainly suggest that someone from the past is lurking in there. An unusual atmosphere awaits you in the stable block, ladies be warned! Guests can experience the undercroft or head outside to the caverns, caves within the rocks on which Guys Cliffe House stands. The location comes with it’s own chapel, with several rooms above to investigate.

Guys Cliffe House Ghost Hunt Summary 25.11.17 (facebook)

Thank you to everybody who participated in last nights investigation at Guys Cliffe House in Warwickshire. It’s been just over a year since we last investigated this incredible location so it was good to be back! So many layers of history attached to this site and various areas to break off into meant guests soon found themselves in small numbers down in the old house ruins, wine cellar (tunnel), stable block, chapel areas, undercroft and cavern.
Highlights : EMF spikes, movement detectors triggering and EVP’s throughout the location. The energy picked up in the upper chapel area was just amazing, reacting with force on command. An earlier group heard dragging noises from the same room when investigating the main chapel below.
Guests reported being touched in the stable block (not the first time we’ve experienced that in there) and down through the tunnel to the wine cellar, a voice captured (EVP) saying “help me”, plus an audible groan heard without equipment. Ouija boards down in the undercroft didn’t provide us with any activity but the human pendulums outside in the cavern all gave us some interesting results. A great night overall with most vigils/areas at Guys Cliffe gifting us with some weird and wonderful activity!.
