Ghost Hunt Creaky Cauldron | Stratford Upon Avon
Event Date | Saturday 2nd March 2019
Event Price | £45.00 per person
Without doubt one of the most haunted buildings in the country, 21 Henley Street (the former Creaky Cauldon) is one of Haunted Evenings favourite hide outs!. In all the times we have investigated this historic Stratford-Upon-Avon building, we have never come away without some ghostly antics. The building has so much history but what makes this place so special, is that it is so rarely investigated. The building is nurtured by it’s current owner who is very protective of his building allowing only a few to enter out of hours. A ghost hunt creaky cauldron event will leave you in a paranormal daze! Some guests have had to leave the dark rooms after feeling unwell, others have literally been left shaken after hearing strange voices and bangs! If you’re looking for a ghost hunt at this incredible location then you best book now! Spaces are limited and events here are RARE!
History of The Creaky Cauldron
The three storey half timbered building has been part of Historic Stratford-upon-Avon for over 450 years and is literally steeped in history. The building is now the only remaining section of the famous White Lion Inn that still stands. Without doubt the building will have seen many local characters pass through its doors likely including one John Shakespeare celebrating the birth of his son William with a flagon of ale or two!
Up until recently, 21 Henley Street has been home to “The Creaky Cauldron”, a magical and quirky museum and wizardry shop. Whilst the museum has now been relocated to newer premises, Owner Dave Matthews is now in the process of lovingly stripping back the former Creaky Cauldron to it’s bare bones! Fireplaces have been revealed, timber walls exposed and what remains is an eerie pocket of a bygone Stratford to investigate! What will the spirits make to the changes?!!

“Thanks to the team for an absolutely amazing night. I am absolutely shocked at what happened to us in group 3 on the 3rd floor.
Being touched, knocking, tapping, footsteps being heard right next to us.
Saw 2 dark shadows walk into the room which were children playing with the K2 Meter which was placed on top of a cup. They were twisting the cup and the K2 meter and then they knocked the K2 meter on the floor and tipped the cup over, it went flying.
I think we were all scared but excited at the same time.I can’t believe what we witnessed. Really active will definitely be coming back ?” Sam Ward 10.09.17 Source:Facebook

July’s investigating was short and sweet (or should that say sweat!) as we headed out last night to our only gig this month to the Creaky Cauldron. An extra special evening awaited our guests and team as we all had access for the very first time to a second site in Stratford.
Although a modern build, the new site was where we conducted our ouija board vigils and both groups experienced communications from the board, most of which was captured as part of a live Facebook stream (please feel free to take a look in the Vlog section)….
The majority of our evening was rightfully spent over at the original Creaky Cauldron premises with parts of the building dating back to the 1500’s. The difference with any of the other nights we’ve ever spent here over the years (of which I’ve lost count) was the fact that this building is now empty, exposing fireplaces, nooks and crannies and old wooden beams. Absolutely thrilling to see the building in such an original state.
Guests had the opportunity to carry out equipment vigils upstairs and traditional experiments downstairs throughout the night. Some old spirits we’ve encountered before came through which just further validated previous findings, it was a fascinating evening and such an enjoyable one – albeit a hot one!
Thanks to everyone who participated in last nights investigation and to Creaky Dave (the owner) for allowing us an exclusive insight into his new premises. If you’re ever in Stratford please head over to Bell Court and see for yourself the delights he’s created over at the new shop but make sure you peer into the window of 21 Henley Street along the way!
