Ghost Hunt Bradford Police Museum | Bradford City Hall

Ghost Hunt Bradford Police Museum | Bradford City Hall

Join Haunted Evenings for an overnight ghost hunt investigation at the Bradford Police Museum, housed within the magnificent Venetian Gothic style Victorian building that is Bradford City Hall.  Get the chance to explore the now disused police cells as well as spend time in the court room. Ghost Hunts with Haunted Evenings combine traditional ghost hunting vigils with more innovative experiments. You could soon be finding yourself taking part in a lock down experiment or trying your hand at using a thermal imaging camera or SLS camera or try your hands at some good olde Victorian séances…..This rarely investigated location is screaming out to be investigated. With plenty of reported paranormal phenomenon, this could be a very Haunted Evening indeed!…..

Paranormal Activity at the Bradford Police Museum

Without doubt, the most famous “ghost” is that of “Chains Charlie”, a well documented and written about character who is believed to be the main cause for the hauntings at the City Hall. Charlie Chains is believed to be responsible for a lot of ghostly style unexplained activities reported ,especially down in the former Police department (where you’ll be spending the night). Charlie is believed to be the spirit of a former prisoner, held at the police cells and tortured. Is he responsible for the chills many have experienced down in the cells or the objects that have mysteriously moved?. Many have reported strange shadows too whilst in the old Bradford Police department. Will we be lucky enough to experience these frightening accounts for ourselves?!

History of Bradford City Hall

Bradford Town Hall was opened in 1873 and was re-named, with its now more grand title of City Hall, in 1965. Between 1874 to 1974, parts of the City Hall were operational by the Bradford Police force,  which can now be visited courtesy of the Bradford Police Museum. The original police cells, court room and police station areas are still accessible beneath City Hall where many have felt a shift in atmosphere….now turn the lights out and head out, out of hours to see what you can experience!

Ghost Hunt Bradford Police Museum : What to expect on the Haunted Evenings Event?

Your night down in the depths of Bradford’s City Hall will start with a warm welcome from the Haunted Evenings Team before we take you on a short orientation tour of the Bradford Police Museum to give you a taster of where you’ll be spending your haunted evening!.
During the course of the evening you will be split up into smaller groups to go off and do some group vigils in the dark (plus lone vigils for those of you brave enough to go it alone!). These will be organised by the team and a staff member will be present at all times with each group.
The Haunted Evenings team uses all the latest paranormal investigation equipment as listed on the equipment page and encourage all guests to have a go at using as much of the gadgets as they wish. The team aim to conduct unique experiments with a “think outside the box” attitude, making the night at the Bradford Police Museum unique to the location, with specific trigger objects and some special twists on more traditional methods for those braver guests!.
Haunted Evenings also aim to collect EVP evidence (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) using rare equipment which works at a lower frequency and can record voices unheard by the human ear. The team will also be setting up experiments in some of the rooms in the hope of catching paranormal activity which will be re-visited before the end of the evening.
